Today let zoom-in on Deviated Nose.
What is Deviated nose?
Deviated nose is when you experience a deviation of your nasal bones and septal cartilage. Aside from aesthetic point of view, deviated nose can cause functional problems such as congestions, headaches and breathing difficulty.
Deviated nose correction is performed along with a rhinoplasty procedure to correct the outer nasal cartilage, and/or the alar base cartilage. It may require osteotomy (surgical procedure of cutting the bones) of the nasal bones.
Is this for me?
There are multiple causes to deviated nasal bridge, the primary one being external physical shock from accidents.
You may consider deviated nasal bridge correction if you:
*Have nasal bridge that looks deviated
*Have nostrils that seem to be in asymmetry
*Have crooked nasal bridge from an accident
*Have deviated nasal bridge formed from nasal implant after a rhinoplasty procedure
*Experience functional discomfort due to deviated nasal bridge
Deviated nasal bridge correction procedures at Migo are performed by Dr. Kang Eun Taek. Dr. Kang is a board certified plastic surgeon, who has extensive experience in plastic surgery from having performed more than hundreds of surgeries. He has a published study, titled " Corrective Rhinoplasty for Deviated Nose a new Osteotomy Technique" , and has collaborated on many academic and medical articles. Dr. Kang is currently an adjunct professor in the department of plastic surgery at Ewha Women's University Medical Center.
