Hello This is Migo Plastic surgery
What is Autologous Rhinoplasty?
Autologous rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that uses only the patient's own cartilage, without artificial prosthesis, and is a safe nasal cosmetic surgery that has the advantages of natural and rapid recovery because it does not use implants.
If the using an implants is burdensome
If you have side effects such as inflammation or contracture
If your skin is thin and therefore there is a possibility of the implant to be seen, you may want to consider the autologous rhinoplasty.
What is autologous materials?
It is a part of your body tissue, and it is generally autologous cartilage (septal cartilage, ear cartilage, rib cartilage), autologous dermis (dermal layer of skin), and autologous fat. When the nose is operated, the tissue can be taken and used instead of the implant to shape the nose.
Autologous materials that can be used for autologous rhinoplasty include septal cartilage, ear cartilage, ribl cartilage, fascia, and autologous dermis.
Check out the list below to see your options!
Septal Cartilage
It is the cartilage located in the middle of the nose.
Only a certain amount is harvested and used.
This cartilage is the most used for rhinoplasty.
Because it is a straight material it can be used for both tip and bridge.
Ear cartilage
The ear cartilage is softer than the septal cartilage and has a curved shape.
This material makes the tip of the nose soft and natural.
As a cartilage that can fill the nose tip without giving off the hard feeling of an implant, due to its good elasticity, it is often used for nose surgery.
Rib cartilage
It is collected at the end of the ribs and can be secured in sufficient quantities compared to other cartilages.
Mostly used for severely depressed or contractured nose, but also for short nose, small and weak septum.
* Can also be used for primary rhinoplasty.
Dermis
Thick tissue between the skin surface and the subcutaneous fat, taken from the top of the tailbone. If the skin is very thin, it is used to raise the nose bridge and there is some absorption, but compressing several layers of dermis can minimize the absorption.
After being grafted, it is resistant to external shock and has a low risk of inflammation.
Temporal Fascia
We collect the fascia in the scalp above the ear.
Recommended for the people with low bridge or thin skin,
to avoid seeing the shape of the implants.
Hope it was helpful for you!
