1. have short nose
→ if you have disproportionately short nose, the nose bridge can be extended to the right for a more proportioned and sophisticated image.
2. have revealed nostrils
→ revealed nostrils can be corrected with this procedure.
3. have upturned nose tip (piggy nose)
→ the upturned nose tip can be fixed to face slightly downward while extending the nose bridge for the ideal proportion and shape for the face.
4. have upturned nose due to capsular contracture resulting from previous surgery
→ capsular contracture caused by implant material used for rhinoplasty procedure can be corrected surgically. This procedure ensures the prevention of the reoccurrence of the phenomena.
Short and Upturned Nose Correction by Dr. Kang Euntaek
Short and upturned nose are characterized by revealed nostrils from the front. Sometimes it is called "piggy nose". Moderately short nose can contribute to a youthful look. However, disproportionately short nose reveals too much of the nostril, which is reminiscent of "piggy nose".
Short and upturned nose is corrected with autologous cartilage and tissue. The line from the nose bridge to the nose tip is corrected so that the length of the nose is proportional to the face, and the nostrils remain covered when viewed from the front. The end result is naturally sophisticated, as if you never had any work done.
Surgical Method for Short and Upturned Nose
Upturned nose tip is corrected by relocating the nose tip downwards. The structure that holds the nose tip must be separated precisely in order to enable this. The nose tip separated by this process is fastened downward. Autoglous cartilage from the septum or ear is used to lengthen the nose. Chest cartilage is also used if ear and septal cartilage are not enough to connect the newly located nose tip and the remaining nose bridge.
1. By moving the nose tip cartilage
→ this is a method for correcting the upturned nose tip by moving the nose tip cartilage itself. This procedure doesn't require collection of cartilage from other parts of the body. The length of the nose is adjusted by a special suturing technique.
2. With septal or ear cartilage
→ the location of the nose tip cartilage is corrected by extension of nose bridge, using septal and/pr ear cartilage. This corrects the upturned tip and creates a soft curve for the entire nose.
3. With chest cartilage
→ chest cartilage is used for extension when the nose bridge is severely short. The support structure underneath the nose tip is separated to be pushed downward and the chest cartilage connects the space between the newly located nose tip and the nose bridge.
Short, upturned nose correction
How Migo Does It Differently
1. No side effect thanks to the usage of autologous cartilage
→ short, upturned nose correction at Migo uses autoglous cartilage for a natural outcome and no to minimal foreign body reaction, such as granuloma.
2. A three dimensional face from a flat face
→ one procedure of rhinoplasty can improve the appearance of the entire face from any angle.
3. Rhinoplasty that considers the balance of the nose within the entire face
→ rhinoplasty at Migo considers the proportion of the nose within the entire face along with the forehead, the space between the eyes, and the chin. Rhinoplasty alone enhances the appearance of the maxillary bone, forehead, and the chin along with the nose.
4. Natural outcome like you never had any work done
→ your nose will look more pronounced and defined while remaining natural like you never had any work done.
5. Fast recovery
