[Nose:Rhinoplasty] Bulbous Nose Correction

Bulbous nose correction is a rhinoplasty procedure to remove and/or relocate a part of nasal cartilage to enhance the shape of the nose. Patients who have wide, large nose tip and nasal bone structure can both benefit from this procedure.

The procedure begins by removing the excessive cartilage on the tip of the nose. Then it is fixed with a thread to make the width narrow. Then a small pole is inserted inbetween the nostrils to heighten the tip. If the width, including the nasal bone is too wide, nasal osteotomy (cutting the bone structure) may be necessary.

You may benefit from bulbous nose correction if you:

  • have disproportionately large nose

  • have blunt nose tip

  • have excessive fat on the tip of the nose

  • have wide alar base

  • have more than one of the problems stated above
