[Breast:Mammoplasty] What to Consider Before Revisional Breast Augmentation

Every revisional surgery need a clear motive behind. One should never undergo revisional surgeries on a whim. If you have the right reasons to do so, it is best to wait for the right timing. At Migo, we strive to bring you satisfaction in both functional, and aesthetic aspects. With expertise built from more than 10 years of experience, we will do our best to make this surgery your last mammoplasty procedure ever.

Following below are surgery methods for revisional mammoplasty by concerns:

capsular contracture

Capsular contracture is when the breasts become harder after the surgery. This is one of the most common reason people undergo revisional mammoplasty. There are four degrees of severity to this symptom:

first degree: Looks natural on the outside. Cannot feel the implant by touching.

second degree: Looks natural on the outside, but the texture of the breast tissues are a bit hard. Implant can be felt by touching.

third degree: The breasts are hard to touch, and the shape of the implant can be seen.

fourth degree: The breasts feels very hard. Severe pain. The shape of the breasts have changed.

You may consider getting a revisional surgery if you have any of the following symptoms below:

The breast feels hard when touched.
The implants can be felt under the breasts.
Pain is felt when touched.
Inframammary lines are not parallel.
Breasts appear asymmetrical.

unsatisfied with the size of the breasts

If you are not happy with the size of the implants, the existing implants can be removed and replaced with the size that you'd like. This procedure can be done 6 months after the previous surgery.

 contrived shape

The location of existing implants are moved to be reshaped, or removed to be replaced with new implants with desired shape.

 damaged implants

Severe asymmetry or deformation of one side of the breasts are likely to be a result of damaged implant on one side. Upon verification, the damaged implants are removed and replaced with the new ones.

asymmetrical breasts

If the inframammary line is not in parallel with differing size of the breasts, they look unnatural, with the risk of creating double fold. This situation can be corrected surgically.
