[Patient Diary] Revisional Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage (3 Months and 2 Weeks Later)

Some patients who decide to undergo rhinoplasty prefer using cartilage from their own body parts, because it can lower their risk of suffering complications related to the surgery. This patient too, have chosen autologous rib cartilage for her revisional rhinoplasty procedure. With this surgery, she has replaced the silicone implant she previously had. She killed two birds with one stone by changing to a safer material, and improving the shape of her nose.

<Before>

The silicone moved astray. The nose appears dull and crooked.

<3 Months and 2 Weeks Later>

 

 The nose will continue to heal up to 2 years. The shape at about 3 months is the one that will remain more or less permanent. Healing slows down, but continues up to 2 years after the surgery.
