[Eyes:Blepharoplasty] Extend the Length of Your Eyes in Any Direction - Full Canthoplasty
Creating double eyelids are not the only way to enlarge and change the size and shape of the eyes. There are various ways to bigger eyes, and canthoplasty is one of them. On this blog post, we want to present to you three types of canthoplasty procedures.Canthoplasty procedures extend the length of the eyes vertically and/or horizontally by cutting open the corners of the eyes.
1. Epicanthoplasty
1. Before the surgery: epicanthal (mongolian folds) are covering the inner corner of the eyes, which makes the eyes to appear smaller and the distance between the eyes longer.
2. The incision is made through the dotted line, near the lower lashes.
3. The skin and the muscle is separated, and then redistributed.
4. The eyes now appear bigger, and more defined.
2. Lateral Canthoplasty
1. Before the surgery: The back corner of the eyes are covered, which makes the eyes to appear shorter horiziontally.
2. Incision is made near the back corner of the eyes after designing the right shape for each patient.
3. The length of the eyes are extended horizontally by redistributing the ligament which supports the outer corner of the eyes.
4. The eyes now appear bigger, and more defined.
3. Lower Canthoplasty
1. Before the surgery: The eyes appear short and small horizontally due to lower lid covering excessive amount of the iris.
2. The surgery is approached by the conjunctivae.
3. Pull lower lid and fix at the right position.
4. The eyes now appear horizontally longer.
You can choose one of any of the three canthoplasty procedures, or combine two, or get all three procedure to get a full canthoplasty procedure. Consult with Dr. Ko Hanwoong to find out which procedure suits you best.
