[Eyes:Blepharoplasty] No More Droopy Eyes: Non- Incisional Ptosis Correction

"Ptosis [toe-sis]" means drooping or falling of the upper, or lower eyelid, which causes the eyelids to cover the pupils. This condition gives the eyes the appearance of sleepiness, and makes the patient to excessively strain the muscles above the eyebrows in order to get better vision, which in turn, leads to premature wrinkling on the forehead area. In most cases, ptosis correction is done by making an incision on the eyelid.  The levator muscle (the muscle involved in opening and closing the eyes on the eyelid) is being tied or shortened to strengthen the power of opening the eyes afterwards. However, at Migo, Dr. Ko can determine the severity of ptosis, so that the patient can opt for non-incisional ptosis correction.

You may consider non-incisional ptosis correction if you:

1. Have eyes that look sleepy, but do not have severe ptosis correction.

2. Feel a little bit of discomfort when opening the eyes.

3. Have thin skin and minimal amount of fat on the eyelid.
