[Eyes:Epicanthoplasty] When Double Eyelid Surgery is Not Enough...

Many think that double eyelid surgery alone will improve the appearance of the eyes the way they wanted. However, in many cases for people who wants to make such change by the surgery, double eyelid surgery alone is not enough. In this blogpost, we're going to show you other types of surgeries that can be added to, or replace double eyelid surgery to enhance the shape of the eyes.

Just with any other type of plastic surgery, it is important to consider the shape of the face, and eyes in different angles. The desired outcome and function of the eyes must be considered.

Epicanthoplasty can bring a dramatic improvement when added to double eyelid surgery for horizontally short eyes. Performing double eyelid surgery alone on this type of eyes are likely to result in eyes that do not look natural with the rest of the face. Sometimes patients with severe epicanthal fold covering who only had double eyelid surgery returns to clinic to get revisional surgery.

It is important to carefully redistribute the skin when performing epicanthoplasty. Performed without care, epicanthoplasty can leave visible scars on the inner corner of the eyes.

Patients with ptosis, who need to use muscles around the eye area to keep the eyes open also gets revisional surgery when they only get double eyelid surgery without ptosis correction. Often times it doesn't serve to make the eyes appear more open when done without ptosis correction.

Epicanthoplasty and ptosis correction can bring dramatic improvement when double eyelid surgery alone is not enough to bring the results the patient has been seeking. Patented surgical procedure performed by experienced and skillfull surgeon, epicanthoplasty at Migo is known for fast recovery and not leaving any scars.

Our clinic is also known for non-incisional ptosis correction. As the name indicates, this surgical procedure do not require inicisions, which leads to shorter length of time required (within 30 minutes), same day discharge, and no need for stitch removal.
