[Eyes:Blepharoplasty] Lifted, and Refreshed Appearance of the Eyes with Incisional Ptosis Correction

Ptosis creates tired appearance, and makes the patient to excessively strain the muscles above the eyebrows in order to get better vision, which in turn, leads to premature wrinkling on the forehead area. In most cases, ptosis correction is done by making an incision on the eyelid.  The levator muscle (the muscle involved in opening and closing the eyes on the eyelid) is being tied or shortened to strengthen the power of opening the eyes afterwards. However, at Migo, Dr. Ko can determine the severity of ptosis, so that the patient can opt for non-incisional ptosis correction.

Incisional ptosis correction is suitable for patients who have severe droopyness with excessive amout of fat on the eyelid. Often times, the problem with patients who have ptosis use eyebrow muscles to open their eyes instead of eyelid muscles. If left untreated, this will create and deepen forehead wrinkles, and weaken the vision due to irises covered by the eyelids. Ptosis must be corrected not only for aesthetic reasons, but more for health reasons.
